ServDes.2023 will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in a partnership between three institutions: Coppe | Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, PUC-Rio | Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, and Livework São Paulo.
The main theme of the conference is “Entanglements & Flows: service encounters and meanings”, alternative worldviews and valorisation of local knowledge and practices increasingly question how service innovators and researchers consider the intersections among nature, culture, and society. Aspects such as otherness, justice, spirituality, vulnerability, or improvisation, among others, are redefining service encounters and ecosystems. Discussions of human-nonhuman relations are challenging user-centered design approaches.
Amongst the confirmed speakers are Ralitsa Debrah (DESIS KNUST, Ghana) and Ezio Manzini.
A DESIS Forum will take place on the 11th of July as a pre-conference event (to be confirmed).
